The cosmos of keyboard instruments

Musical instruments seem to be rather unusual museum pieces. Especially when you actually want to hear them. How do they come to be kept silent and still in a collection instead of being played? And are they really not played? Yes they are, but of course under strict conditions and only by certain musicians.

Curator Dr Benedikt Brilmayer invites the audience to take part in a guided tour in which he will tell the stories of musical instruments beyond their sonic reality. The tour will focus on the individual stories of some instruments as well as the general history of the creation of these types of instruments.

The different soundscapes can also be heard on selected keyboard instruments, from the harpsichord to the clavichord, the organ, a celesta and a modern grand piano.
