The dialogic tour through all the exhibition rooms offers insights into the world of the Enlightenment in the long 18th century. Questions such as: "What does reason mean? How was the order of the world designed at that time? Who benefits from the pursuit of equality - and who is excluded from it?" question the narrative of the Enlightenment as a pure project of progress.
Using topics such as the search for knowledge and the new science, the question of religion, gender models, cosmopolitanism and mercantilism, visitors can benefit from the exchange and discussion with the speakers.
The focus of the tour is on selected exhibits that provide information about the historical issues and controversies of the time. Educational speakers provide background information on the actors and also introduce visitors to lesser-known global voices.
The objects illustrate the positive and negative interrelationships of the Enlightenment in historical, political and cultural terms.
Finally, we can talk together about the significance of the Enlightenment for the present.
