The Gallery Tor218 Artlab is showing Anna Mesniankina's paintings until 1 May 2025. The paintings show elements from nature to abstract compositions. Her pictures are a complex inner reflection on current events.

The exhibition shows a new series of works by Anna Mesniankina, mainly acrylic on canvas.  The vibrant colours, dynamic forms and subtle textures create a complex and multi-layered visual experience. Each work seems to create its own world into which the viewer is invited to enter. But there are also sombre compositions among her works, which create a deep emotional resonance and express her engagement with current affairs.

Anna Mesniankina, born on 12 May 1989 in Berdiansk, Ukraine. Until she fled in 2022, Mesniankina worked there as a painter and 3D graphic designer alongside her artistic practice. Her hometown is occupied and she fled with her daughter via Poland to Berlin. She had to leave behind all her works, work materials and technical hardware (computer, hard drives) that she needs for her artistic work.

Supported by the Franz Meiller Foundation and in collaboration with the gallery Tor218 Artlab in Berlin Mitte, the painter and graphic designer Mesniankina has now been given the opportunity to resume her artistic work and show her works to a wider audience.

Opening of the exhibition on 24 January 2025, 7 p.m.
