Sheena McGrandles
In the duet “as long as you want”, Sheena McGrandles and Eli Cohen undertake a choreographic exploration of lesbian temporalities and lesbian desire.
The movement material, inspired by Shibari and gay shadow and pogo dancing, immerses itself in a pastel-colored landscape of digitally generated images and a dense weave of denim fabrics.
The result is a contradictory choreography that oscillates between attraction and rejection, between intense physical contact and clear movement sequences.
The dancers create a pulsating, undulating world in which the amorphous bodies and figures appear as if they were caught in an endless wave of desire and longing.
Playful and provocative at the same time, “as long as you want” becomes a deep emotional and physical experience and shows how desire can grow from a fleeting moment into a profound force.
