Chinese film evening
The film tells the story of the undertaker Mo Sanmei, who has just been released from prison and meets the orphan Wu Xiaowen at a funeral. After a series of funny and moving experiences, a special father-daughter relationship develops between the two, who make their living in the funeral business, which changes Mo Sanmei's attitudes towards his job and life.

Written and directed by Liu Jiangjiang, the film also stars Zhu Yilong and Yang Enyou.
It won Best Actor and Best Directorial Debut at the 35th China Golden Rooster Film Awards in 2022, and the Outstanding Young Filmmaker Award at the 19th China Huabiao Film Awards.
Plot:
Mo Sanmei, who was involved in a fight because of his girlfriend and subsequently went to prison, finds out after his release that he has been abandoned. His father wants to hand over the family funeral home to him, but thinks he is a good-for-nothing. Mo Sanmei has no interest in the family business itself. But things take an unexpected turn when Wu Xiaowen enters his life.
Xiaowen, who was abandoned by her relatives after her grandmother's death, is taken in by Sanmei. Whether this ex-convict, who has no idea about life, will find a way into his new role as a father remains to be seen.
During their time together, the two develop a special relationship and become a good team, supporting and helping each other. Little by little, Xiaowen changes Mo's attitudes to work and life and makes him rethink the value of his profession.
