Flower paintings by Kurt Mühlenhaupt and Anna Nezhnaya

The new exhibition "Kreuzberg Blüten" opens at the beginning of spring, bringing together Kurt Mühlenhaupt's flower paintings and the modern works of Anna Nezhnaya.

Mühlenhaupt's bouquets appear freshly picked – simple, colorful, and full of vitality. Instead of exotic plants, he painted familiar garden and meadow flowers such as asters, dahlias, lilacs, geraniums, carnations, roses, and forget-me-nots. Against neutral backgrounds, the colors glow and radiate a warm, down-to-earth beauty.

Anna Nezhnaya brings a contemporary contrast to the exhibition. Her works – a mixture of paintings, light objects, and digital drawings – explore identity in the post-internet age. Her sketches, framed in glass and neon light, particularly address female archetypes from art, literature, and mythology and place them in a modern context. Her studio is located directly in the Mühlenhaupt Höfe.
