Passion Oratorio
The St. John Passion by Johann Sebastian Bach, first performed in 1724, is one of the most important works of church music and is characterized by its dramatic intensity and emotional depth. It impressively combines choirs, arias and recitatives to create a musical narrative of the Passion story based on the Gospel of John.
