Curated by Raoul Klooker and Janika Jähnisch

The focus of Jordan Strafer's first institutional solo exhibition in Germany is the third and final part of her film trilogy Loophole, a production and commission by Fluentum. The series began in 2023 with LOOPHOLE at the Vienna Secession and continued in 2024 with DECADENCE at The Renaissance Society in Chicago.

The trilogy is set against the backdrop of a fictional, highly media-covered rape trial in Florida in the 1990s and takes up the aesthetics of erotic thrillers as well as the spectacle of publicly broadcast court proceedings of that time.

Jordan Strafer combines scripts, local news, reality TV and public court records with personal elements - including her mother's role as defense attorney in a sensational criminal trial in 1991.

In the final chapter of the trilogy, Strafer expands the time frame of the first two films: By combining historical sources with pop cultural references from the post-war period to the turn of the millennium, a transhistorical examination of justice, media culture and their influence on public perception emerges.
