Johannes Schenk (1941-2006), grew up in Worpswede, was a ship's boy at the age of fourteen, a sailor, six years later travelled to the South Seas on his own ship (a converted lifeboat), dishwasher, gardener, bookseller, stevedore, road worker, stage technician at the Schaubühne, writer.
Wrote poems, novels, stories and plays.
Lived in Berlin since the 1960s and in a circus wagon in Worpswede.
