Guided tour of the special presentation with palace director Anke Berkhoff, SPSG
200 years ago, Prince Carl of Prussia (1801-1883) proudly took possession of his property in Glienicke and from then on called himself "Sir Charles Glienicke" in private letters. As a special highlight, a presentation will be shown in the prince's living quarters in Glienicke Palace from August 17 to October 31, 2024. It consists mainly of objects owned by the Berlin collector Bernd Schmidt, which condense the existing exhibition and focus on the cultural life in Glienicke.

The main items on display are letters from Princess Charlotte (1798-1860, 1817 marriage to Grand Duke Nicholas Pavlovich of Russia, from 1825 Tsar Nicholas I) to her brother Carl. Both siblings were very fond of each other, which was expressed in the letters, as well as in mutual visits and gifts.
In addition, other art objects owned by Prince Carl and his wife Princess Marie will be on display. (Books, leather folders, seals, collection folder with a printed list of Prince Carl's weapons collection) will be on display.
During the tour, participants will learn more about the prince's life and the objects on display.
