Grand Group Opening Exhibition
Breaking through the walls of a closed society.
From 29 November 2024, artists Ivan Gette and Olivier Kéros will present the exhibition Closed Society, which is based on unconventional perspectives and bold ideas. The exhibition will take place at Notagallery - a space dedicated to challenging the status quo. The collaboration invites the public to rethink the forces that determine who is welcome and who is excluded.
In this exhibition, exclusion becomes a catalyst for innovation. Gette and Kéros embody the belief that crossing conventional boundaries creates space for new ideas. They reverse the concept of a closed society and show that strength lies in doing things differently - embracing openness and the potential for transformation beyond conventional boundaries.
At its core, Geschlossene Gesellschaft celebrates the fearless spirit of those who challenge norms. Although their artistic practices are different, Gette and Kéros share an attitude of resilience and resistance, a drive to stand up to restrictive systems. As self-taught artists, they have created their own path from limited means and resources, carving out their own opportunities for growth and creative expression.
Closed Society illuminates the resilience of visionaries whose tireless energy sparks a call for change. The artists embody the belief that despite modern constraints, art remains a realm where outsiders, rebels and the uncompromisingly brave can redefine boundaries and inspire others to do the same.

About Ivan Gette
Ivan Gette is a Berlin-based abstract painter and gallery owner whose art explores the complexities of modern life and challenges traditional views on creativity. Rooted in his philosophy of ‘abstract nihilism’, Gette's paintings offer a raw, unfiltered approach that invites viewers to engage with their own emotions and perspectives. Drawing from his personal history, his bold and expressive works capture the intricacies of human connection and shared experience.
Rich in emotional resonance, Gette's art appeals to collectors worldwide, which has led to his paintings being represented in private collections in the UK, India, Dubai, Ibiza, the USA, Italy, Mallorca, Germany and Switzerland. His work has recently been shown in major exhibitions including a solo show at the Red Eight Gallery in London, Art Fair Miami at the Rudolf Budja Gallery and others.

His style is unique, combining abstraction and neo-expressionism with clear forms and figures and a striking use of colour.
Kéro's works are attracting more and more attention worldwide. He has exhibited his works in various metropolises around the world, from New York to Paris, Madrid, Amsterdam and last but not least in his home city of Berlin, where he recently had his own gallery.
