… If It Ain’t Got That Swing

Black Bottom is the swing big band with the typical Glenn Miller line-up. The hot sound is provided by saxophones, trumpets, trombones, piano, drums, bass and guitar and sometimes even vocals. The name "Black Bottom" comes from the legendary dance, which, like the Charleston, was one of the crazy wiggle dances of the 1920s. The song of the same name, written by Ray Henderson in 1926, is the band's theme song.

But Black Bottom doesn't just play dance music from the 1920s. The classics of the swing era, the big hits of the 1930s are just as much a part of the repertoire as the sounds from the 1940s.

In addition, the versatile formation plays modern big band jazz from the post-war period, rocky swing titles and well-known film and musical melodies from recent times, as well as South American rhythms and Latin American dances... if it got that swing!
