The organ grinder and pianola used to bring the latest and most popular songs to Berlin's backyards and salons. The melodies and mechanical instruments still fascinate us today. After work, in the Pankow Museum you can listen to popular songs on real barrel organs, perforated musical instruments and organettes.

At the same time, there is a lot to learn about the Italian immigrants who brought the art of barrel organ building with them to Berlin and founded the world-famous company Cocchi, Bacigalupo and Graffigna on Schönhauser Allee. Their large orchestra “Fratihymnia” still invites you to dance today with its large repertoire of hits and operettas.
