5° Edition Vierte Welle
The Fourth Wave Film Festival (VWFF5) has been committed to the visibility of queer and FLINTA+ artists since 2019. The festival aims to raise awareness of gender inequality, counteract discrimination and reduce prejudices through active civic engagement. Short films, documentaries and experimental audiovisual projects from all over the world are shown.
FOURTH WAVE FILM FESTIVAL
International Feminist Film Festival since 2019
The VWFF offers a safe and inclusive space for the presentation, discussion and appreciation of audiovisual works that address philosophical, political, economic, social, environmental and cultural issues - regardless of whether they follow academic approaches or not. This diversity is reflected in the festival's categories.
For the fifth edition in 2025, the categories have been revised to appeal to a wider audience while promoting solidarity between different groups - without losing the feminist and queer foundation of the festival.
The categories:
- Queer (formerly Trans Lives Matter): Narratives from queer and FLINTA+ perspectives that celebrate diversity and support the fight against discrimination.
- Activism (formerly Ecofeminism & Body Neutrality): Stories about feminist-led movements around the world that are sparking social change.
- Me Too: Films that address violence against women and queer people in all its facets - physical, emotional, economic or institutional - and promote empathy, hope and change.
- Berlin Migrant: Feminist-influenced works by migrants directed in Berlin.
The screenings will take place on March 15 and 16, 2025 at Lichtblick Kino.
All films will be shown in their original language with English subtitles to ensure the greatest possible inclusivity.
