Human rights of women in the focus of the film

From 23 to 29 October 2024, the 24th Filmfestival FrauenWelten will be held in the KulturBrauerei Berlin cinema, where  international films on the subject of women's rights will be presented.

The festival also aims to provide inspirational perspectives by showing films with empowering messages such as Claudia Richarz's HELKE SANDER: PURGE and Anna Hints' SMOKE SAUNA SISTER HOOD.

The screenings are accompanied by an extensive supporting program, including audience talks and panel discussions with over 20 experts and directors. The aim of the feminist film festival is to use film to show abuses in the field of women's rights, to empower girls and women and to promote social commitment to women's rights.

In addition, two city walks on women's history in Berlin are offered in cooperation with women's tours, as well as a reading and performance by the author Dr. Farsana Soleimankehl-Hanke.

TERRE DES FEMMES, a human rights organization, has been organizing the annual film festival FrauenWelten since 2001, which takes a look at the global human rights situation of women. Through a careful selection of current short, feature and documentary films from different countries, the focus is on the situation of women's rights in different cultures, and offers around 4,000 viewers every year new perspectives and approaches to the respective topics.
