Tour on the occasion of the coronation day of Frederick I on January 18, 1701
On January 18, 1701, the Brandenburg Elector Frederick III placed the crown on his own head in Königsberg in Eastern Europe. An act with great symbolic significance. From that day on, he called himself Frederick I of Prussia.
With the increase in rank, Frederick wanted to find a new place in the concert of European powers. A new era began in Brandenburg-Prussian history.
Using selected works of art, the prerequisites, the preparations for the coronation and Frederick's efforts to gain recognition for the new rank are addressed.
