Place2Be.Berlin, the event platform of the queer city magazine SIEGESSÄULE and ‘Bohème Sauvage’, Europe's most famous 20s party, present ‘Eldorado - The Queer 20s Experience’ for the second time

On Saturday, 16 November, it's time to immerse yourself in the world of bubikopf, Charleston and the first LGBTIQ emancipation movement, as Place2Be.Berlin and ‘Bohème Sauvage’ invite you to the queer 1920s experience ‘Eldorado Berlin’ for the second time.

The event starts at 4 pm in front of the former Eldorado in Schöneberg Motzstraße with a city tour on the topic of ‘Queer life in Berlin in the 1920s’. The experienced LGBTIQ* tour guide Jeff Mannes will take participants on a historical journey for two hours.

From Magnus Hirschfeld and his Institute for Sexology to the life and work of lesbian singing star Claire Waldoff and the legendary Eldorado nightclub. Background information, stories about famous Berliners and fun facts about queer Berlin in the 1920s. ‘In the Golden 20s, Berlin was the centre of global sexology and the birthplace of the modern queer movement,’ explains Jeff. ’I'm also looking forward to telling participants all about the grasshoppers, stone whores, racehorses and other sex workers and the fetishes they offered.’

After the tour, we will continue together to an exclusive salon in the chic Friedrichshain venue ‘Le Boudoir’ hosted by Else Edelstahl, 20s podcaster and organiser of the legendary ‘Bohème Sauvage’ parties. Over champagne and finger food, guests can chat about the tour from 7 pm. There will also be a short musical excursion on the subject of ‘Queer songs in Berlin in the 1920s’ with expert and shellac collector Stephan Wuthe and a musical performance by Sigrid Grajek, who will perform excerpts from her Claire Waldoff programme.
Tickets for this event are limited to 20 seats and can now be booked exclusively at place2be.berlin.
