Barcelona at the end of the century before last, roiled by anarchism, communism, Darwinism and spiritualism.

Jacint Verdaguer, one of the most influential authors in the Catalan language, works as a priest in the city's slums. In this role, he takes part in a number of exorcisms and records these experiences in his diaries.

His notes are astonishingly current - they explicitly address questions of ownership and alienation, the multiplicity of the body, social constructs, pandemic conditions, people's interactions with the world and marginalized bodies.

Together with the dancer Rocía Molina and the singer Niño de Elche, as well as a number of artists and scientists who deal with the concept of possession, cabosanroque have created a sound and image ceremony:

20 spectators are in the installation and become both passive and active subjects at the same time - surrounded by percussion with inflatable pool toys, the whispering of miniature speakers, beats on an old slatted frame and the spherical dripping of water.

  • The audience is asked to use shoe covers.
  • They move independently through the installation; there are no seats.
  • Stroboscopic light effects and loud music are used.
  • A short text is also available in English spoken language in the German version.

  • (In German spoken and written language
  • In English spoken and written language on November 8th at 8:00 p.m. + 9:00 p.m. and on November 10th at 3:00 p.m. + 4:00 p.m.)
