About Bauhaus, the star architect of the GDR, two emancipating women and the traps of the system

The high-rise building on Weberwiese, the teacher's house, the ‘Tower of Signals’ as a model for the television tower and the development of Leninplatz are all associated with the name of GDR architect Hermann Henselmann.

In her gripping novel, his granddaughter Florentine Anders dedicates herself to the family history, also focussing on the women of the family.

There is Henselmann's wife Isi, who struggles with a growing family and her own ambitions to become an architect, and daughter Isa, who frees herself from her father's influence to go her own way. A gripping tale of idealism, family and political conflict.

We cordially invite you to the book presentation and subsequent discussion with Florentine Anders. The moderator will be Irmtraud Gutschke.
