Adventurous reading with Ute Krause

For decades, the award-winning Berlin author has been inspiring readers with her humorous, courageous and heart-warming stories.

Her animal heroes are clever, adventurous and lovable – just like the four unlikely friends Picandou, Pomme de Terre, Gruyère and Bertram von Backenbart, who, as the ‘muscle men’, cause a lot of excitement.

While the clever rat Gruyère longs for nothing more than a long ship voyage, for the cosy Picandou it's a nightmare. Bertram, on the other hand, is full of anticipation, and for Pomme de Terre it's just another adventure in his exciting life.

In addition to the captivating reading, there is a special highlight: Ute Krause draws the four muscle animals live. The sketches will be raffled off among the children after an exciting muscle animal quiz – a unique chance to take home an original signed by the author.
