The vocal group VIP presents a diverse concert program of sacred and secular vocal music from Great Britain. Music from the Elizabethan era will be heard, including works by Thomas Tallis, his student William Byrd, and other masters of the English Renaissance.

  • Sacred and secular works by Thomas Tallis, William Byrd, Edward Elgar, Benjamin Britten, and Bob Chilcott, among others

With vocal works by Ivan Moody and Bob Chilcott, the ensemble also offers a glimpse into contemporary British music. The full range of human emotions is explored in compositions from the 19th and early 20th centuries. Edward Elgar, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Benjamin Britten, and others use their music to tell of love, longing, despair, discord, harmony, and exuberant joy in dancing, before the concert concludes with well-known pop hits.

The Dresden vocal group VIP consists of eight singers, all former members of the Dresden Kreuzchor or the St. Thomas Boys' Choir in Leipzig – two of Germany's most renowned boys' choirs. The singers aim to present their listeners with a broad musical spectrum.

Their repertoire encompasses vocal music from the Middle Ages to the present day, with a focus on compositions from the Renaissance, Romantic, Classical Modern, and contemporary works. Popular music is also included – be it hits from the 1920s or a cappella arrangements of current pop music.

The ensemble was founded in 2003 by five then-active members of the Dresden Kreuzchor, two of whom are still part of the ensemble today. The vocal group can now look back on countless concerts throughout Germany.

Numerous tours have also taken them to Italy, France, Spain, Austria, the Czech Republic, Liechtenstein, Kosovo, and Switzerland. They perform their concerts flexibly, with ensembles of four to eight singers.
