A musical story based on the children's book classic by Friedrich Wolf
Father Luitpold Löwenhaupt buys a live goose for Christmas, which is to become a fat Christmas roast. This will be stored in the potato cellar until the festival. The three children of the family call the goose Gustje and lovingly take care of the animal.
Actually, Gustje is not bad in the cellar. Only little Peterle disagrees and insists that Gustje can sleep in the children's room. Peterle and Gans are already inseparable when father wants to send Gustje into the goose heaven shortly before Christmas. Gustje screams, mother and children cry, and father invents an evil trick. Because he can't wait to finally get the roast on his plate... But who triumphs in the end? The goose, of course - otherwise it wouldn't be a fun Christmas story! Thomas Sutter has written some nice songs for the performance in the tent stage. Two actresses* tell the famous story, sometimes individually, sometimes chorically, sometimes with songs and let their instruments sound.
