GDR Contract Work, Resistance, Continuities: A bus tour through Marzahn & Lichtenberg

As part of the exhibition Sung Tieu – 1992, 2025, KW, together with the artist and Tamara Hentschel, is organizing a bus tour through Berlin-Marzahn and Lichtenberg.

The tour follows the traces of Vietnamese labor migration in the GDR, particularly highlighting the upheavals of the reunification years and their lasting effects today. It includes former housing complexes and workplaces as well as sites of right-wing extremist violence and social tensions. The tour concludes with a short stop at the Dong Xuan Center.

The approximately five-hour tour takes participants to various locations by bus. The explanations will be given primarily in German, with informal translations into Vietnamese and English in small groups.
