It began with a stormy love, a few stupid coincidences, a dreamed future - abruptly interrupted by a first prison stay that would change Clyde's life forever. After that he had enough. He wanted a life with Bonnie in freedom, he wanted to take revenge on the authorities and banks, but not harm the civilian population. And they stuck to it. They roamed the country robbing and shooting, celebrated for a long time by the press and the population, and embodied the liberation that the USA so urgently needed after the Great Depression.

How it ended? Everyone knows. Bonnie also knew this when she wrote shortly before: Some day they'll go down together; And they'll bury them side by side; To few it'll be grief To the law a relief But it's death for Bonnie and Clyde.

Johanna Steiner's live radio play tells the story of Bonnie and Clyde in a fast, relentless and modern way, which sounds like a fairy tale and simply isn't one.
