The special exhibition “Frans Hals Master of the Moment” focuses on Frans Hals, who worked in Harlem and was one of the most famous Dutch artists of the 17th century alongside Rembrandt and Vermeer.

With his sometimes unconventional style of painting and design, he not only inspired his contemporaries, but also artists right up to classical modernism.
The lecture series focuses on the unique pictorial inventions of Frans Hals and brings them into a dialog with the pictorial solutions of his fellow painters.
