Alongside the military industry, pornography is considered the main driver of digitalization. The ways in which it is used therefore also form a cultural laboratory of digital consumer society: how porn is consumed provides information about the state of what we call sexuality, but also beyond that - because human desire is the most important resource for technical development.

The cultural effects of this connection are most clearly expressed in the pleasure farms of the porn consumption industry.

This lecture describes some newer aspects of digitized sexuality related to pornography consumption.

Arne Vogelgesang traces the history of the still young practice of "gooning" and considers what it can tell us about the development of sexuality in the media age and about our relationship to technology in a broader sense.
