Jubilee Sunday with free admission

25 years of the Berlin Museum of Communication! A lot has happened since the ceremonial opening on March 17, 2000 by Federal President Johannes Rau - and now the museum is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a free admission day.

Library tour Successful new beginning
Immerse yourself in the more recent history of the venerable library, which began more than 150 years ago. Browse through historical books and find out about the use and tasks of this special museum library.

  • For reasons of youth protection, the tour is for ages 18 and over.
  • Bags and backpacks must be left in the cloakroom free of charge.

Architectural tour
How long have museum buildings actually been around? The architectural tour takes visitors on a journey through the eventful history of the oldest postal museum in the world: today's Museum of Communication Berlin. The building is a magnificent Wilhelminian building - explicitly designed and built as a museum. The focus of the tour is how the empire built a postal palace and thus carved its claim to power in stone.

Tour of NEWS
What is the relationship to news, what role do news agencies play and what do people need to be well informed now and in the future? The first comprehensive exhibition on the subject of news provides answers and encourages discussion.


2 p.m.
French-language tour of UDERZO - From Asterix to Magic Potion
The tour sheds light on the work of Albert Uderzo, one of the most important comic artists in Europe. Early works, original Asterix pages and personal items from his studio are on display. The tour also provides background information on the collaboration with René Goscinny and the creation of the famous Asterix stories.


2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Family Sunday for Future. Creative workshop for kids aged 4 and up
Every day, people produce a lot of rubbish. Together, we create something new and creative! Let your imagination run wild and make recycled comic toilet roll figures.


3 p.m.
Highlight tour From the hand axe to the smartphone - the history of communication
From the first evidence of human communication to digital networking: Come with us on a short journey through 20,000 years of communication history along the highlights of the permanent exhibition.


4 p.m.
Tour of UDERZO - From Asterix to magic potion
