More than 80 kite fliers from all over Europe show their kites, which are up to 50 meters long. Tens of thousands of young and old visitors are expected, who can also bring their own kites and fly them. Admission is free.

Festival der RIESENDRACHEN
The highlights in the sky this year include a 47 meter long octopus, huge wind turbines, so-called bowls, with a diameter of up to 16 meters, various superheroes (Batman, Superman, Logan) and flying UFOs, Chinese dragons (centipedes) and even a David Bowie kite.
Around 1,500 kites will fly throughout the day. If you tie all the strings that the kites use to fly, the estimated length is more than twelve kilometers. That corresponds to the distance from the television tower at Alexanderplatz to Tempelhofer Feld – there and back.
Demonstrations with various stunt kites and large kites as well as one- and two-line kites inspire young and old visitors alike. The local hang-gliders know their trade: many world and European champions are at the start and show their skills. The event is accompanied by a varied stage program with live music and various gastronomic offers.
The GIANT DRAGONS CITY AND COUNTRY Festival is one of the biggest family festivals in the capital and an event for the whole family.
