Not far from the historical ambience around Biesdorf Palace, the Christmas village on Elsterwerdaer Platz invites you to a festive experience for the whole family. With lovingly designed market stalls, a varied programme and a charitable focus, this Christmas market combines tradition and a sense of community.

Family-friendly atmosphere

The Christmas village at Biesdorf Castle has a warm, family-friendly atmosphere. The very special design of the small Christmas village also contributes to this: All the market stalls are arranged in a circle, creating an inviting space for encounters and activities. This means that young and old can enjoy the festive atmosphere together in a relaxed atmosphere.

Community welfare takes centre stage

A particularly noteworthy feature is that all proceeds are donated to local charities. On the opening day, 29 November, the celebration starts at 5pm with choir and dance performances as well as the ceremonial lighting of the Christmas lights together with the children of Fortuna Biesdorf. This festive event will of course be hosted by Father Christmas himself.

Programme and culinary delights

For children, there will be a carousel, environmentally friendly crafts and enchanting fairy tale readings. Young guests can meet Father Christmas while adults listen to the sounds of live music. The programme includes festive choir concerts as well as other musical performances. The Christmas village offers a variety of culinary delights, from mulled wine and punch to crêpes, candied fruit, langos, waffles and bratwurst.

To Biesdorf Castle is a 15-minute walk away. From there, it's just 18 minutes on the 154 bus to the Gärten der Welt, which is a magical destination even in winter. In the evening, you can also take a tour of the Christmas-lit zoo. You can reach it from Schloss Biesdorf in just a few minutes on the U5 underground line.
