Discover Berlin’s most historical and impressive cemeteries

Places full of history and stories: Many famous people have their final resting place in one of Berlin cemeteries. If you take a walk through the Dorotheenstädischer cemetery you can visit the graves of Bertolt Brecht and Helene Weigel, Hegel and other famous Berliners. You can find Marlene Dietrich’s grave in the romantically overgrown Städtischer cemetery in Stubenrauchstraße. Hildegard Knef, Willy Brandt and Ernst Reuter are buried in the Waldfriedhof Zehlendorf cemetery in the middle of a pine forest. Fans of Rio Reiser make the pilgrimage to the St. Matthäus cemetery in Schöneberg. The Jewish cemetery in Weißensee is the largest in Europe. It is an enchanted place and feels like a labyrinth in the jungle.
