Modernist architecture from Bauhaus to the present day
To mark the centenary of the Bauhaus movement in 2019, the Bauhaus Association has devised a Grand Tour of Modernism that takes architecture fans all over Germany. Some 100 prominent modernist buildings were selected for their cultural and historical significance: these include churches, museums and industrial buildings such as private villas, schools and cinemas. 40 of the buildings are in Berlin alone! The diversity of the buildings presented in Berlin ranges from the past to the present: from the six large 1920s housing estates to the Jewish Museum of 2001, visitors can experience the entire panorama of modernist architecture.
