For experienced yogis and curious beginners.

Whether you live in Berlin or are just visiting. There should always be time for wellness and relaxation - especially, of course, for your yoga practice. As we all know, there's nothing in Berlin that doesn't exist - from yoga on the water, to yoga with fluffy sheep, to meditation in a museum. We have put together 11 yoga classes and studios of a more unusual kind for you.

Tip 1: Find your balance with SUP yoga

This requires balance and a sense of equilibrium! SUP yoga (stand-up paddle yoga) offers you a different kind of yoga class, where you practise on your SUP board surrounded by nature and on the water. The fact that you are on a moving surface means that your muscles are particularly challenged. An intense and new experience for all yogis. Although the yoga boards are stable, cooling off in the water is part of the programme. The courses take place at the Funkhaus on the Funkhaus grounds and at the Wendenschloss lido and last 90 minutes each. You can register online on the Stand Up Club Berlin website.

When: Every Thursday and at the weekend
Where:
Funkhaus, Nalepastraße 18, Teptow-Köpenick
Strandbad Wendeschloss, Möllhausenufer  30, Treptow-Köpenick

Tip 2: Flow to the beat of the music

Music is a pleasant accompaniment to yoga. However, it usually only plays in the background. We have two tips for you where music is more at the centre of the practice. At Yoga Rebellion in Mitte, you can take part in so-called Flow on Beat classes. Here, the flow is guided by the rhythm of the music. In this class, you will work on a harmonious asana sequence in tune with the music. A yoga practice of a less serious kind can be found at Black Yoga, or Metal Yoga in Weißensee. Band T-shirts are welcome. Hatha yoga is practised here and combined with music. You don't have to be an experienced yogi, everyone is welcome.

When: daily according to the timetable
Where: Gartenstraße 6, Mitte

Tip 3: Let fluffy sheep accompany your practice

Fluffy sheep roaming around you during yoga? That's what awaits you in Yoga with Sheep, led by yoga teacher Barbara Nowakowska.
The sheep all have a unique personality. Some are more curious and sniff around you during the class, others are shy and reserved and prefer to observe from a safe distance. The course is suitable for everyone. Children aged 10 and over can also take part.

When: Every first and third Saturday of the month
Where: Schenkendorfer Weg, Teltow

Tip 4: Immerse yourself in silence - Gong Bath in the Feuerle Collection

Yoga is much more than exercise and holding various asanas. Meditation is also an important part of the practice. The Gong Bath is one way.
In the Feuerle Collection, you can immerse yourself in an inner state of stillness surrounded by works of art on the first Saturday of every month. The vibrations and sound waves of the gong are designed to release blockages and interrupt negative thoughts. They also help to reduce stress and ground you in your hectic everyday life. You can register online for the gong bath including a visit to the collection. Mats are available.

Tip: By the way, the sauna area of the vabali spa Berlin also offers a soothing meditation sauna.

When: Every first Saturday of the month
            12:45 - 14:30
          14:30 - 16:3 pm
