BAR JEDER VERNUNFT

Walking down Schaperstraße, a small side street close to Kurfürstendamm boulevard, you could easily miss a narrow path illuminated with strings of lights leading to one of Berlin’s special gems. It may sound bizarre to say this little treasure lies under trees on a parking deck – but this popular venue is anything but normal!

The BAR JEDER VERNUNFT has found a permanent home in a spacious Flemish mirrored tent dating from 1912. Traditionally, these large marquee-style tents were used for dances, but today the modern stage hosts evenings of chansons and musical-cabarett. When you enter this elaborate art nouveau tent, the romantic décor with its intimate atmosphere seems to transport you back to the 1920s. The charming waiting staff serve drinks and refreshments directly at your table as you relax or dine between red velvet curtains with candlelight reflecting off a sea of mirrors.

This glamorous sing-dance-and-party show is based on the songs of a world star whose high-pitched voice has brought countless global hits to the eternal pop repertoire: Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons. A musical summer hit in the Spiegelzelttheater.

Life is a cabaret...

The shows on stage are perfectly in tune with this magical atmosphere. Since BAR JEDER VERNUNFT opened its doors in summer 1992 with seating for up to 250 guests, it has been home to the crème de la crème of small venue acts, both from Berlin and internationally. Many of those first acts performing here quickly became regulars, building a reputation making them far more than local heroes – and they are always glad to return to present their latest programme at this special venue. The BAR JEDER VERNUNFT is also justly proud of its range of in-house productions, and has enjoyed major successes with the musical Cabaret, when the mirrored tent was transformed into the 1920s Kit Kat Club. The operetta Das weiße Rößl am Wolfgangssee, which paired singer Max Raabe with the Geschwister Pfister trio, was also a runaway hit with audiences.

Relax and enjoy

In winter, guests can dine in style, enjoying a selection of delicious high-quality fresh dishes before the show starts, while in summer the BAR JEDER VERNUNFT's own beer garden in front of the tent is ideal for guests to meet for a drink outside.
In 2002, the BAR JEDER VERNUNFT family welcomed a new member – the TIPI AM KANZLERAMT, its sister tent, twice as large and located in Tiergarten park.
