06.06.2025 - 28.09.2025: Camille Claudel and Bernhard Hoetger - Emancipation from Rodin
For the first time, the works of the French sculptor Camille Claudel and the German sculptor Bernhard Hoetger are presented together. Both artists are united by their distance from Auguste Rodin and their desire for acceptance, focussing on Franco-German cultural exchange at the turn of the century.
24.10.2025 - 15.02.2026: The Scharf Collection: Goya – Monet – Cézanne – Bonnard – Grosse
The Scharf Collection at the Alte Nationalgalerie presents an exhibition that not only features great names from art history, but also provides a comprehensive insight into the private collection for the first time. Starting from the famous Otto Gerstenberg Collection in Berlin, the exhibition spans from the beginnings of modernism to the French avant-garde and contemporary art. The exhibition presents masterpieces by Goya, Monet, Cézanne, Bonnard, Matisse, Picasso and Katharina Grosse, which come together in an inspiring dialogue. The development of French and contemporary art from the 19th century to the present day is brought to life in an impressive presentation of the collection.
Permanent exhibition: Art of the 19th century and exhibitions
There are masterpieces by Caspar David Friedrich, Adolph of Menzel, Edouard Manet, Claude Monet, Auguste Renoir, Paul Cézanne, Auguste Rodin, Anselm Feuerbach, Arnold Böcklin, Hans von Marées, Max Liebermann and Lovis Corinth.
