desde 12,00 €

The exhibition "in_finite. Living with Death" examines the different aspects of death using multimedia as well as interactive installations and experiences.

Special exhibition at the Humboldt Forum until 26.11.2023: in_finite. Living with Death

The exhibition "in_finite. Living with Death" examines different aspects of death, such as the "good" death and the legacy we leave behind. At the beginning, you will see a cinematic prologue highlighting the role of Homo Sapiens in the universe, before starting your tour through the exhibition.

Death from a social, cultural and scientific Perspectives

With multimedia as well as interactive installations and spatial experiences, you will immerse yourself in the ideas of the afterlife of different faith communities and take part in a video conference with people from twelve different countries, all of whom have the task of accompanying other people on their way to death. You will also learn more about the processes of dying from a scientific and medical perspective and gain insights into special funeral traditions. Furthermore, questions are raised that go far beyond your own horizon: How do living and dying conditions differ worldwide? What responsibility do we bear for the death of other people? And is there even a danger of humanity's self-extinction in view of the current extinction of species?

In the last room of the exhibition you will find works by authors such as Audre Lorde, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Abdulrazak Gurnah and many others who have dealt with the topics of dying, mourning and death.
