If you don't want a good workout especially on a hot summer day, you can still take an extremely pleasant tour of Berlin by boat. Children especially enjoy these and can help motivate their desire for further sightseeing. One of the most popular tours is the bridge tour, boarding from Märkisches Ufer, Hallesches Tor, or Kottbusser Brücke. Simply board the boat at one of several jetties and cruise in comfort past Berlin's main attractions. On the Spree, for example, the tour will pass then House of World Cultures, the Federal Chancellor's Office , and the government district. You'll also catch sight of Museum island, the Nikolai quarter, and Berlin Cathedral. This tour takes about three hours through the city centre. If you want to see even more, you can opt on a Havel cruise. A particularly romantic option in the summer is an evening bridge tour.
