Splash Pool on Boxhagener Platz

Swimming with the penguins

Boxhagener Platz is one of the most important meeting places in the Friedrichshain district. A weekly market takes place here on Saturday mornings and on Sundays, the square's always good for a rummage at the weekly flea market, after which you can head off to brunch in one of the surrounding cafés. But in the summer, parents also steer their prams towards Boxhagener Platz.

Splash pool with spray nozzles

The square's home not just a playground, but also a 25 x 14 m splash pool, supplied with fresh water from a spray nozzle. Because the water's only calf-deep, little kids will especially enjoy having fun here. And it's free! Inspired by the four bronze penguins standing on a pedestal in the basin, the kiddos can spray each other wet or fill their buckets with water. Their parents, meanwhile, can keep an eye on what's happening from the surrounding park benches.
