Shopping around Akazienstraße

Shopping in a relaxed atmosphere

The Akazienkiez neighbourhood is perfect for anyone who likes to stroll around in a relaxed atmosphere and enjoy good food. This neighbourhood combines charming neighbourhood flair with a creative scene and a special selection of small, individual shops.

Discover concept stores, independent design shops and cosy cafés, bars and restaurants that invite you to linger. Here, Berliners mingle with visitors who appreciate the special charm of the neighbourhood.

A tip: Most of the small shops don't open until around 11 am, some even later. If you want to take a relaxed stroll through the shops, you shouldn't be out and about too early.

Enjoyable start at Kaiser-Wilhelm-Platz

We start at Kaiser-Wilhelm-Platz and immediately have a special delicatessen and bistro on the right: Viani Berlin. Here you will find high-quality Italian specialities, exquisite wines and authentic gourmet culture in a stylish ambience. And if you have more time, you should definitely sign up for one of the cookery courses - creative menus and lots of tips and tricks from the chefs promise an enjoyable evening.

Just a few steps further on is a real institution in the neighbourhood: Die Möwe im Felsenkeller. Open from Monday to Saturday from 4 pm, you will get to know a true Berlin pub. As soon as you enter, you realise that the pub has been around for more than 100 years, as the interior has hardly changed: Without a lot of frills, you'll get a draught beer and Berlin home cooking. Perhaps you'll stop by again in the evening after your tour.

Antique and cosy

Now it's time to do a little shopping. On the other side of the street you'll find Nordmöbel Berlin, a small antique furniture shop. If you're looking for special pieces of jewellery, you'll find them here.

Just next door at Frida Blau Denim Fashion, women will find jeans and casual items for every occasion.

If you feel like taking a little break, the Café BilderBuch is the place to go. A cosy living room atmosphere with old sofas, bookshelves and vintage furniture - reading and lingering are the order of the day here. Don't miss the homemade cakes. Here you will also meet artists and creatives who will delight you with readings, live music and cultural events.

Further on, stroll past Indian, Nepalese, Vietnamese, Italian and Japanese restaurants, burger shops and Berlin cuisine - a culinary variety that has something for every taste.

Esoterics and special fashion

Now things are getting a little esoteric on the other side of the street. Whether in the Steinreich Galerie, where a select range of minerals, crystals and all kinds of stones awaits you, or a few steps further in the Inanna, a unique metaphysical shop with rare incense, crystals and spiritually inspiring treasures - you'll love the magical atmosphere. A place for those in search of something special!

Or immerse yourself in one of the many stories that the Akazienbuchhandlung (Bookshop) has in store for you. A few steps further on, you will find the modern jewellery shop Doris Imhoff with beautiful, unusual and timeless jewellery full of creativity and variety.

In the boutique Mademoiselle YéYé, right next door, you will discover sustainable and vintage-oriented fashion from the in-house label.

Now take a stroll around the corner to Belziger Straße. Here you'll find the first of many second-hand and vintage shops in the neighbourhood, the Seconhandboutique

If you love high-quality and fairly produced leather craftsmanship, you should pop into Zeha Berlin. It is one of three branches in Berlin. The brand was originally known for handmade leather shoes and later as a leading GDR sports shoe manufacturer. It was revitalised in 2002 with retro designs and sustainable production.

All those who love ties should visit À la Cravate. Prototypes are developed here in the in-house studio and own designs and collections are created.

In addition to Nelia Modedesign, you will also find the Papierhaus Felix Verspohl opposite. In addition to the usual stationery, the stationery department will delight you: Notebooks, high-quality papers and, of course, greeting cards.

Fashion and lots of indulgence

Back on Akazienstraße, you'll find a mixture of small and individual boutiques, cafés and shops. At ZwoVier there are carefully selected individual pieces, while at Greta & Luis customers appreciate the high-quality selection.
Sophisticated style, high quality and a varied selection of shoes from Italy, Spain and Portugal await you at Marco Farino

And now, on the left-hand side, is probably the best espresso in town: queuing is part of everyday life at DoubleEye, but you'll see: The wait in the queue is worth it.
If you now read names like A Peace of Mind, Happy Colibri or Queen of the Night, then you have landed in the wonderful shop of Estrella, who will enchant you with her Chocolaterie. Handmade chocolates, nougat and marzipan specialities, lovingly packaged and also created for you on request.

Wine lovers: inside have the choice between Vendemmia with Italian wines or the Rioja wine specialist, which delights with a Spanish wine selection and cavas.

In addition to gourmet items, there are also stylish accessories to discover: Lanjara offers a selection of beautiful bags, fine crafts and upcycling. Just a few metres further on, you will find yourself in front of the Church of St Paul the Apostle. Stop in, take a short break in the neo-Gothic brick building and marvel at the architecture and stained glass.

The Someone loves you floor café is a place where you can feel the love for good food and fine coffee. For tea lovers, the Tee Tea Thé is a good address - there is a large selection of tea specialities and accessories and delicious cakes can also be found here.

Next door is the Apple Gallery. In addition to the regional products from Brandenburg, the highlight of the shop is the old apple varieties on offer in autumn - fresh, aromatic and with the unmistakable taste that you remember from grandma's garden.

If you still have room for an ice cream, then you should definitely try the ice cream from Jones Ice Creme, which offers very special varieties.

And again, cross the street to visit Kochen und Würzen. In addition to all kinds of cooking utensils, you will be delighted by the lovingly arranged kitchen aids.

You will find trendy clothing at Violet, and at the little yoga store you will find a variety of yoga-related products.

Want to delight your taste buds with something sweet while discovering pretty, decorative and beautiful things to give as gifts or for yourself? Then head to Mamsell, the chocolate shop where handmade truffles and chocolates are created.

A trip to Barbarossa Straße is worthwhile for fans of upcycling and bags of all kinds - from rucksacks to cluches, purses and travelling bags: be sure to stop by the Meyburg bags. Fun fact: Each bag was a sofa or a leather armchair in its first life and therefore has its own story.

Further along Goltzstraße, you will find Trigon jewellery and gemstones and, close to each other, 24colous, uvr Berlin Schöneberg, the second-hand shop and - for anyone looking for a special evening or wedding dress: Chiton Brautmoden (bridal and evening dresses made to measure).

And on Goltzstraße, the first bric-a-brac and gift shops are finally opening. If you are looking for handmade items that are both beautiful and stylish, then head to The Goods Interior: artfully woven baskets from Morocco, fine cashmere blankets from Nepal, stylish thermos flasks from the USA, delicate jewellery from New York and high-quality leather goods from our own studio.

Wonderful gifts can also be found in Die Mobilien, Makani and Nordliebe with Scandinavian design as well as in Lwerk, the jewellery gallery of beautiful things.

For all those who like hats, there is no way around the Berlin shop Panama Hutgalerie. For more than 20 years, the hats and caps handmade in Europe have been creating that special look with quality and style.

On the corner of Frankenstraße, you can hardly miss the Hobbyshop Wilhelm Rüther. If you haven't had a creative hobby yet, you'll find it here. For more than 50 years, the shop has been an institution when it comes to craft and art supplies. As a permanent fixture in Berlin's creative scene, the shop with its various specialised branches really does offer everything you can imagine and more.

And if you still haven't had enough of delicious handmade chocolate, stop by Winterfeldt Schokolade at the end of the street. The shop itself is a feast for the eyes: the chocolate treasures are attractively displayed in the listed pharmacy from the Wilhelminian era, and the sight will make it impossible for you to leave the shop without a sweet treat. Or you can make yourself comfortable in the café and enjoy the incredible chocolates on the spot.

If you arrive at the end of Goltzstraße on a Saturday - or perhaps you start your tour from here - you can experience the Wochenmarkt am Winterfeldtplatz on the opposite side. It is probably the best-known and largest weekly market in the city. This is where Berliners meet, get to know each other, exchange ideas and ring in the weekend in a relaxed atmosphere.
