A café in Schoenberg’s culinary centre offering contemporary hybrid-cuisine brunch & lunch. No reservations are needed to sample these innovative reboots of classic Middle Eastern and Persian dishes served up by the owners and chefs Sophie and Xenia. German, Australian and Iranian influences are suffused through all the salads, sandwiches, desserts and unique signature dishes. The sisters comfortably mix grains with roasted and raw vegetables or toss together slices of sourdough bread to accompany their Persian pomegranate and saffron rice classics. You can enjoy your meal with a full range of fine wines and homemade non-alcoholic lemonades. Packing sweet and sour – Tehran and Melbourne – old and new into each plate, Rocket + Basil is a lavish lunchtime oasis of flavour.
