Red Town hall

The interior shots were filmed for the police department in which Gereon Rath works in the Red Town Hall. The original police department building on Alexanderplatz, called the Rote Burg, was built at the end of the 19th century and was the largest building in the city, next to the Berlin Palace. The building suffered serious damage in the second world war. Today, the Alexa shopping centre is located on the premises. The Red Town Hall is the seat of the Governing Mayor of Berlin. The nickname refers to the red clinker stones. You can visit the Berlin Town Hall Monday to Friday from 10am to 6pm and get an impression of Gereon Rath's workplace.

t is best to call 030 - 9026-2032 first to check whether the town hall is closed for events or security reasons.
