Prenzlkasper

The stronghold of Kasper, hero of German puppet theatre

"Come out Kasper!" The little audience members shout at the top of their voices, because the bad knight is threatening to defeat the good knight, and Kasper has to help! The puppet theatre in Prenzlauer Berg is the home of Prenzelkasper. The hand puppeteer Andreas Ulbrich leads the hero Kasper, in his traditional floppy hat, through all kinds of adventures, to the delight of young and old alike.

As well as traditional Kasper pieces, Prenzlkasper also presents other classic fairy tales, such as Das tapfere Schneiderlein (The Brave Little Tailor), Rotkäppchen (Little Red Riding Hood), and Hase und Igel (The Hare and the Hedgehog). Most productions are recommended for children aged 3 and above. The theatre is located in the most family-friendly district in Berlin, Prenzlauer Berg. After the performance, you can visit one of the many playgrounds or cafés in the area. The theatre can be reached by several tramlines.
