The Playce | Potsdamer Platz Arkaden

Shopping in the heart of the city

The former Potsdamer Platz Arkaden, the three-storey glass-roofed shopping street at Potsdamer Platz, shine with modern architecture - designed by star architect Renzo Piano. The large shopping centre was closed for a long time. Since September 2022, it has been gradually opening with a new name and a new concept.

The Playce: Shopping Paradise of Superlatives

The new shopping centre is called The Playce: a play on words from the English "play" and "place". You can look forward to a "shopping paradise of superlatives": The offer ranges from supermarkets and drugstores for everyday needs to modern store concepts for technology, sport, fashion and lifestyle. Art installations and events such as readings and live music will make the shopping centre even more attractive.

Experience worlds such as the Mission Play Store from Mattel, the gigantic NBA store and the largest arcade in Berlin will also attract younger target groups. But fashion boutiques and the first Sustainable Superstore by Peek & Cloppenburg also invite you to explore. Stroll through the spacious arcades, linger over a coffee or meet up for lunch.

New food hub concept

Lovers of fine dining and entertainment are in for a treat: Europe's largest food hub, Manifesto, has opened in The Playce. The new food hub concept brings together Berlin food start-ups and outlets from Berlin star chefs with cultural and lifestyle events, education and entertainment. Spread over two floors, 22 restaurants, four bars and much more await you.

Robot vendor Gisela

In the basement of The Playce, directly at the transition to the S-Bahn station, shoppers will find a special attraction. In the entrance area of the retail GARAGE, a showroom of the Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Handel, the Handelsverband Deutschland e.V. (HDE) and the EHI Retail Institute, Germany's first humanoid sales robot welcomes you. The cuddly robot assembles small cardboard robots right before the eyes of interested shoppers.

Parking

Directly below the shopping centre is a large underground garage with direct access to the arcades.
