Spandau by bike

On this cycle tour through Spandau, you will discover the historic centre of Berlin's westernmost district as well as the most beautiful views of the Havel. In one hour and 40 minutes, you will see historic alleyways, the famous citadel and plenty of nature. In between, you can enjoy a swim in the Havel and delicious ice cream. The tour starts and ends at Rathaus Spandau station, which you can reach by S-Bahn and U-Bahn. Regional trains and ICE trains also stop here.

Tour Highlights

The route first takes you to the historic centre of Spandau. With its medieval alleyways and little houses, it takes you back in time. Particularly worth seeing are the Nikolai Church, the Gothic House and the remains of the walls of a Dominican monastery from the 13th century. Spandau Citadel is one of the most important Renaissance fortresses in Europe. Its walls now house various exhibitions. For example, on the history of Spandau and the fortress, a collection of historical cannons and changing art exhibitions. Nearby is the Juliusturm tower, which offers a magnificent view over Spandau and the Havel landscape.

The tour then continues along the Havel. You will pass the so-called Bürgerablage. The bathing area on the Havel invites you to take a break and cool off. The route then continues through the Spandauer Forst forest. There is a wildlife enclosure on the way where you can see wild boar, fallow deer, roe deer, red deer and mouflon.
