Reading with actress Josefin Platt
"Are there even any trees left in the Tiergarten?" Astrid Lindgren asked in a letter to a Berlin friend shortly after World War II. The Tiergarten was indeed severely devastated.
Trees were felled for firewood, and the area served as a potato field for the starving population. When the former resident of the Tiergarten district, the court journalist Gabriele Tergit, returned from her exile, she found bare tree stumps and an almost completely destroyed district.
Actress Josefin Platt reads literary discoveries about the destroyed Tiergarten.
