Musical reading with Rosa and Jonathan Tennenbaum. The tenderly ironic tone of her verses, mixed with a touch of melancholy and humour, quickly made her the poet of the 1930s.

Even after her emigration to the USA, where she sang against the ‘dollar cult’, and then to Israel, her place of longing remained Berlin, ‘her Berlin’, where she once sang ‘in the Prussian poetry forest, department for city slickers’ and celebrated success. Her bitter-sweet poems still exert an incomparable magic.

The reading will be accompanied by piano works from the period by Max Reger, Camille Saint-Saens, Scott Joplin, Paul Desmond and others.
