Easter morning. End of the night. Get up. Make room for life.

Easter morning. The focus is on the women: Mary, Salome and Mary Magdalene go to Jesus' tomb at dawn with anointing oil in their hands. There they experience encouragement and horror, the unexpected and a miracle.

Easter is about listening to the experience of women. To believe the angel's message alongside them: "Do not be afraid! That which was dead is alive."

Easter is the end of the night, is getting up, persevering, following up and making room for life.

Easter is walking together, supporting each other and naming injustice.

Because Easter is stronger than worrying about stones that are too big and not putting up with violence, hatred and war.

Easter is standing up so that resurrection is possible.

What are you standing up for? Today, now, 2025.

What are you standing up for - in times when a woman in Germany experiences domestic violence every three minutes, rape is a weapon of war worldwide and women's rights are being scrutinised anew.

What are you standing up for?
That's what we're asking as many and as different people as possible this year.

We believe that each answer will be its own Easter story. And we are convinced that telling each other about it can strengthen your own feet and give you courage.

That's why all the answers will be displayed on a large billboard on Karl-August-Platz in Charlottenburg.

If you would like to take part, please write a (short) response to t.dittmann@akd-ekbo.de, optionally with your name, location, function, age and/or situation.

We will also be celebrating a service for the political Easter Vigil on Easter morning.
