Performance · Berlin premiere by Milla Koistinen - In the frame of Fold "Spring Break"
Endurance is the central theme of Milla Koistinen's upcoming performance series, which explores physical labor, determination, and commitment, as expressed primarily in sports, but also in culture and society.
The series begins with "GRIT (for what it's worth)," a work that explores perseverance and resilience as prerequisites for overcoming individual and collective limitations. This powerful solo performance embodies the essence of resistance to hardship, fatigue, and obstacles in a deeply personal way.
"GRIT (for what it's worth)" makes sports and performance art tangible as cultural and political forces and explores their influence on the collective identity and social dynamics.
Milla Koistinen's works are characterized by a subtle play with repetition and gesture, stillness and movement, recognizably everyday and poetically alienated images. In her choreographies, dance, visual art, and music meet across disciplines.
May 17 7:00 PM Family Friendly Environment
Parents and guardians are welcome to attend performances marked "Family Friendly Environment – All families welcome." Although the performances are not specifically designed for young audiences, they strive to create a family-friendly environment, both inside and outside the studio.
They understand that children may not be able to sit still throughout the performance and that families may wish to leave during the performance or early. Unfortunately, childcare cannot be offered. Admission is free for all accompanied children up to and including 12 years of age.
