15:00 - 19:00: Disinfopoint
Mark Twain Library
At the Desinfopoint, interested parties can test their knowledge of media and their skills in dealing with misinformation in a completely analogue way. Interested parties are invited to lend a hand at the individual stations and take on various tasks. Whether alone or as a small group - each station offers the opportunity to engage with different aspects of the media landscape. The Disinfopoint is always accompanied by experts who not only carry out the fact check, but also provide background information and are available to answer questions.
17:00 - 18:00: The Nightingale - Suitcase theatre for children

17:00 - 18:00: Library staff present their favourite books
Mark Twain Library
Many people read, but hardly anyone talks about it. Yet exchanging ideas about what we have read is beneficial for everyone, especially as it is almost impossible to get an overview of the German book market with its 100,000 new publications every year.
Librarians from the Marzahn-Hellersdorf municipal library present their favourite books in a cosy atmosphere and talk about their reading experiences beyond the bestseller lists. The selection covers all genres - from novels to non-fiction, audio books and children's books, old and new.
17:00 - 22:00: Rally through the library
Mark Twain Library
If you want to discover the library in a fun way, you can borrow an iPad and use the Actionbound app to navigate through the different areas. There are questions and tasks to solve in each section. Only when the correct answer has been found can you progress further. At the end, you are shown the results and which place you have occupied. This rally is possible at any time during the Night of the Libraries.
17:00 - 22:00: Playing - analogue and digital
Mark Twain Library
Do you want to meet new people and are you into board and video games?
Then come and join us! Here you can socialise with others at the Night of the Libraries and have fun playing exciting games. Whether you're challenging someone for first place in Mario Kart or winning the most words in Tabu - there's something for everyone!
18:30 - 19:30: Workshop - Bookbinding
Mark Twain Library
Whether as a diary, for poems or as a gift: if you want something very special, you can bind your own book. In this course you will learn (step-by-step instructions for beginners) how to make booklets with coloured covers and three- or five-stitch bindings. There are no limits to your imagination. Coloured covers, paper and tools will be provided. If you wish, you can bring your own material and tools.
Klaus Missler was head of bookbinding at the Berlin City Library (later ZLB). Now retired, he is happy to pass on his knowledge.
20:00 - 21:00: Chinese ink painting
Mark Twain Library
This introductory course in Chinese ink painting teaches the basics of materials and techniques for traditional motifs. During the course, you will learn to paint landscapes, flowers and birds, learning different techniques and being encouraged to develop your own style. The aim is to gain a basic understanding, master simple techniques and encourage creative expression in order to further deepen your knowledge of the art of ink painting.
21:30 - 22:00: Art treasures from the Artothek
Mark Twain Library
Since the Mark Twain Library opened in 1991, there has also been the Artothek - a collection of original paintings and prints for loan. Some of it is now a little outdated, cupboards, shelves and frames could do with a refresh and the presentation of the pictures also leaves room for improvement. Inés Bartel, responsible for the Artothek and exhibitions, is full of ideas for improving the perception and increasing the attractiveness of our art treasures, which she would like to show you.
