The Berlin chamber orchestra sinfonietta92 focuses on contemporary music. As a self-managed, semi-professional ensemble, it meets twice a year for intensive rehearsal phases, culminating in a concert in the chamber music hall of the Berlin Philharmonic.

The orchestra was founded in 1992 by members of large Berlin student orchestras with the aim of playing music in small ensembles and creating programs outside the standard classical repertoire. In order to constantly gain new musical impulses, sinfonietta92 works with changing conductors, whom the ensemble selects itself.

In addition, sinfonietta92 is a valued partner of numerous choirs, with whom it regularly performs sacred and secular works. Through its efforts to go beyond the usual concert repertoire, it has firmly established itself in the Berlin orchestra scene.
