Each year, the Long Night of the Sciences (Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften) transforms science into an exciting, interactive adventure. Between 5 pm and midnight, some of Berlin's most prestigious research institutions open their doors to the public, offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the world of discovery and innovation.



All evening and into the night, visitors can take part in experiments, fascinating lectures, science shows and guided tours of facilities that are usually off-limits to the public.

Biology, engineering, art and even sociology are featured at the Long Night of the Sciences. Over 60 scientific institutions across Berlin and Potsdam offer visitors a wealth of activities spread over five key themes:
